Collectively, they showcased the country’s rich culture and tradition — not to mention, the talent and creativity of Filipino designers that created their garb.

There was the gilded Filipiniana of Candidate 1, Jessica Marasigan. Its patterns were reminiscent of fish scales — a fitting dress for a lass from Malabon.

Candidate 17, Patch Magtanong, meanwhile, donned a warrior princess costume — perfect for someone who hails from Bataan.

Ilene De Vera, Candidate 19 from Mandaue, Cebu, highlighted Cebu’s guitar industry.

While Candidate 37, Samantha Poblete, of Cavite, had with her the Philippine flag, signifying our country’s independence.

The photos were shot by Raymond Saldaña, with creative direction from January Saga Abad.
