Gazini Ganados of Talisay, Cebu is Miss Universe Philippines 2019


Gazini Ganados is the new Miss Universe Philippines.

The 23-year-old beauty, who hails from Talisay. Cebu, was crowned by predecessor Catriona Gray during the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 Grand Coronation Night on Sunday.

Gazini has been a strong contender from the beginning and was considered a shoo-in for one of the six pageant titles. She has previously joined Miss World Philippines in 2014 and finished as a semifinalist.

Miss International: Bea Patricia Magtanong, Bataan

Miss Intercontinental: Emma Mary Tiglao, Pampanga

Miss Grand International: Samantha Lo, Cebu City

Miss Globe: Leren Mae Bautista, Laguna

Miss Supranational: Reesham Saeed, Maguindanao

1st runner up: Maria Andrea Abesamis, Pasig

2nd runner up: Samantha Bernardo, Palawan

During the Q&A portion, Gazini was asked what she will do to get more women in the workplace. She answered:

If I win the crown tonight, what I will do is to promote my advocacy. My advocacy is for us women to fight for our rights and for the elderly care and for us to be able to know that someone is loving us, and someone is pushing us to whatever ambitions that we have. We will be able to rise from our decisions to whatever dreams that we have, goals that we have and we will achieve it because of those values, those wisdoms that they gave us. Thank you.
