Here are the winners of the 69th Palanca Awards

The winners of the 69th Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature were honored on Friday evening at the Peninsula Manila, Makati City.

Fifty-six writers, 32 of whom won the award for the first time, received the prestigious literary award.

There were a total of 22 writing categories, with the bi-annual Novel and Novela categories open for this year. All the entries were evaluated by literary personalities from various fields.

Multi-awarded writer Lamberto E. Antonio was also inducted into the Palanca Hall of Fame for bagging his fifth First Prize Award this year.

This year's awarding ceremony featured the guest of Honor and Speaker Dr. Cristina Pantoja-Hidalgo, an award-winning writer and recipient of three Palanca Awards.

The Palanca Awards, which aims to cultivate Philippine literature by giving incentives to writers while serving as a treasury of their works, was named after philanthropost and businessman Don Carlos Palanca Sr.
