Take a trip down memory lane with these Filipino Christmas songs
#Pinned makes it easier for the young Filipino adult to discover the latest stories about fashion, food, travel, gadgets, activities, and shopping.
All our stories are written by young creatives who made it their life mission to know everything there is to know about how fellow young adults can make the most out of their limited down time every day, every week.

It’s that time of the year again when we’ll hear little carolers singing cheerful Christmas tunes. It doesn’t matter if they don’t know the words as long as they sing happily in front of your door. And when they finally say, “Namamasko po!” it’s time to show your generosity by giving them some spare change.
Or, you know, yell "Patatawarin!" Good times, good times.
You were once one of those little carolers, and we’re pretty sure you miss singing your childhood Christmas songs. That said, here are five Filipino songs you grew up with that will take you to a trip down memory lane.
1. Ang Pasko ay Sumapit
An iconic and a favorite song of all time, “Ang Pasko ay Sumapit” is just the right song for carolers. Why not, since the words of this song encourage generosity? It’s the perfect song to sing by carolers waiting for some coins.
2. Sa May Bahay ang Aming Bati
Another great song for carolers, you can’t end the night without singing “Sa May Bahay ang Aming Bati.” This song straight up tells your neighbors what you came for: aginaldo. But more than that, it tells of fun Christmas caroling traditions in the Philippines.
3. Noche Buena
What makes Filipino Christmas merrier is the festivities. And this song perfectly sums it up. The abundance of food mentioned in “Noche Buena” makes one look forward to the actual Christmas Eve.
4. Pasko na Naman
This song just shows how excited kids can be for Christmas. As a child, you look forward to the aginaldo you will be receiving. But now that you’re a working Millennial, you’re dying to celebrate Christmas because that means a long work vacation for you—many, many “tanging araw na’ting pinakamimithi.”
5. Misa de Gallo
Before Ben&Ben's Bibingka, there's "Misa de Gallo," the song that signifies everything that we love about Simbang Gabi. Never mind our sleepy, sleepy younger selves, it was a part of the holidays that we always look forward to completing and making that wish at the last night.
Little carolers today may be into singing new songs like GMA's hit station ID. That said, this list should make you remember your childhood the next time you hear carolers singing on the street.
