The Philippines dominates international dance competition


The Philippines dominated the recently concluded All Dance 2019 World Championships.

The Halili-Cruz School of Dance, the only representative from the Philippines and Asia, took home nine 1st place wins, six 2nd place honors, and six 3rd place finishes.

The junior dancers, aged 4-11 years old, were the big winners, taking home the prestigious Grand Corybant Trophy, winning 1st place in Ballet, Musical Theater and Hiphop, a 2nd place win for Jazz, and garnering the highest average in their group dances.

Adding to the junior dancers’ medal collection were a 1st place for Ballet Solo, 1st place finish for Lyrical Solo, and 1st place finish for Tap Duo; a 2nd place finish for Musical Theater Solo, and Tap Solo, and a 3rd place finish for Hiphop solo, Jazz Duo, and Hiphop solo.

The Halili Cruz Dance School also received the Best Male Dancer for Juniors (Symone Drapete), the Best Female Dancer (AIra Rostrata) for the Professional Level, and a 3rd place for Best Directors.

 

 

The Philippines competed against 29 other countries including USA, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, France, New Zealand, and Portugal.

The All Dance 2019 World Championships took place on November 24 to December 1 in Orlando, Florida, USA.
