The Pasinaya festival, slated this weekend from February 7 to 9 has been cancelled.

According to a press statement from the Cultural Center of the Philippines, "the cancellation of this year's Pasinaya is in response to the current outbreak of the novel coronavirus. The health officials have advised people to avoid crowds."

For the past 15 years, the Pasinaya Festival has attracted thousands of visitors happily availing of the "see-all-they-want" for just P50. Last year, more than 16,000 people participated in the multi-arts festival.

The Novel Coronavirus has claimed nearly 500 lives, including one in the Philippines last weekend.
