Art in the Park 2020 postponed due to COVID-19 threat

Art in the Park 2020 has been postponed.

In a press statement received by GMA News Online on Monday, organizers of what many has touted as the "Affordable Art Fair" said that "in consideration of the recent advisories by both the World Health Organization and the Department of Health, we feel that pushing through with the event would be irresponsible."

Art in the Park has prepared a more interactive edition this year, with live drawings by Robert Alejandro and drawing demos by Jackie Lozano, lots of food and wine, the Garapata Hatchery and art pieces of no more than P50,000.

It was scheduled to take place on March 15 at the Jaime Velasquez Park, in Makati's Salcedo Village.

But with local cases of the COVID-19 climbing to a total of 10 over the weekend, organizers of the event and the Museum Foundation of the Philippines  decided to not push through with the event.

"We hope to reschedule Art in the Park to later this year," it said. — LA, GMA News
