Miss Universe Philippines to film pre-pageant events, grand finale in Baguio City


Miss Universe Philippines has revealed that pre-pageant events (interview, national costume, swimsuit and evening) and the grand finale will be filmed at the Baguio Country Club in Baguio City.

The MUP organization will strictly follow the FDCP - DOH Health and Safety Protocols for the Conduct of Film and Audiovisual Production Shoots to Mitigate COVID-19. 

Additionally, there will be no live audience during the production.

Fans from all over the world can catch the preliminary interview, national costume, swimsuit and evening gown competitions and the two-hour finale when they subscribe to the Ring Light series on empire.ph.

The interview is set to premiere on the Ring Light on October 21, while the national costume, swimsuit and evening gown episodes will be live on October 23.

The grand finale will be aired on GMA-7 at 9am on October 25, Sunday. It will be made available on empire.ph at 10:30am.
 

 

Following strict protocols in Baguio and during filming

The MUP organization said that the whole production team, candidates, and pageant officers will consistently coordinate with appropriate national agencies and the local government of Baguio City until the end of the production of the final episode.

According to the press statement, an on-site inspection before filming will take place to ensure well-ventilated space for social distancing, sanitary facilities in all entrances and exits, and isolation area for those who might show symptoms of COVID-19.

All members will also be screened and tested before they start filming in accordance with the DOH.

The production team will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times with a limit of 15 to 59 people on set including the candidates.

The candidates will also be provided their own rooms on-site to strictly adhere to the guidelines. Makeup will also be done by themselves following tutorials from makeup artists.

They are also required to wear PPE when not performing on stage and practice social distancing. They are also required to stay inside their respective rooms when they are not filming.

There are 48 candidates from all over the Philippines will be vying for the crown. The winner will represent the Philippines in the global Miss Universe stage. — LA, GMA News
