Lisa Macuja recalls beauty of Star Theater before devastating fire: 'So many memorable performances'
Lisa Macuja-Elizalde took to social media on Wednesday to remember the once-vibrant Star Theater that was destroyed by a fire in 2019.
The prima ballerina posted photos of the theater’s torn down entrance with the now-closed Star City amusement park’s ferris wheel in the background.
“This used to be the entrance into the audience area of Star Theater. Seating was to the left. Restrooms to the right,” Macuja wrote.
“I miss this wonderful 850 seater. The home of so many memorable performances,” she added.
Star Theater was among structures that did not survive the fire that engulfed the Star City amusement park compound in Pasay City in October 2019.
Macuja, who is married to Star Parks Corp. owner Fred J. Elizalde, is the artistic director and CEO of Ballet Manila.
Fred had given both the Star Theater and Aliw Theater to her as gifts.
