Disney teases Pinay singer behind first Filipino-language song for 'Raya and the Last Dragon'

Disney will have its first Filipino-language song for the upcoming animated film "Raya and the Last Dragon" and it will be sung by one of the Philippines' "most powerful voices."

On Instagram, Disney Studios Philippines, teased its followers with a photo of a woman clad in what seemed to be a Filipino piña cloth.

"The first Filipino-language song from Disney, sung by one of the Philippines' most powerful voices. Find out who she is tomorrow. #DisneyRayaPH," the tweet read.

Any guesses on who it might be?

"Raya and the Last Dragon" will follow the story of Disney's first Southeast Asian princess.

It is set in a fantasy world of Kumandra where humans and dragons lived together in harmony.

When sinister monsters known as the Druun threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity.

Now, 500 years later, those same monsters have returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the last dragon in order to finally stop the Druun for good.

According to a report on Entertainment Weekly last August, cultures that influenced the movie included the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia.

Kelly Marie Tran will be giving life to Raya, while "Crazy Rich Asians" star "Awkwafina" will be the voice of the dragon Sisu."
