Miss Universe shares throwback clips of Gloria Diaz from when she won in 1969

The Miss Universe organization on Facebook page shared throwback video clips of Gloria Diaz from when she won in 1969 as a way of greeting her on her 70th birthday.

The Miss Universe organization shared videos on their social media page, showing highlights of her moments during the Miss Universe 1969 competition when she was crowned the winner.

Apart from her crowning moment, the video also showed the stream of Q&As Gloria Diaz went through during the coronation night.

Prior to the final Q&A, Gloria was asked what it's like being in a big family with the host asking her to name her 2 brothers and 9 sisters.

“It doesn’t really make a difference, it’s just like a small family," she said.

For the final Q&A, Gloria was asked, “In a next day or so, a man will land on the moon. If a man from the moon landed in your hometown, what would you do to entertain him?”

Gloria straightforwardly answered, “Oh, just the same things I do. I think if he has been in the moon for so long, I think when he comes over he wants to change, I guess.”

Gloria is the first Filipina to be crowned Miss Universe, followed by Margarita Moran in 1973, Pia Wurtzbach in 2015, and Catriona Gray in 2018.
