Shay Mitchell says Alexandra Trese is a 'character that I’ve grown to love so much'

Sounds like Shay Mitchell and Liza Soberano are super proud to voice for Alexandra Trese in the upcoming anime series on Netflix, with Shay lending her voice in English and Liza, in Filipino.

In a behind-the-scenes video, Shay said she is “really excited” for the series.

“Just to see it come from words on a page to then seeing it be artwork and then voicing over to this character that I’ve grown to love so much,” the "Pretty Little Liars" star said.

“I get to play such a strong female with such an incredible cast. We’re very determined women. Whenever she puts her mind to something, she gets it done,” she added.

Meanwhile, Liza shared that she was “blown away” when she saw the series’ Filipino script.

“It’s beautifully told when it’s in Filipino and it has more sentimental value to me and more of a connection to me,” she said.

“We are both very courageous when it comes to people that we love,” she added. “She has this responsibility and duty towards the people of Manila and she takes that to heart.”

The trailer of “Trese” was unveiled last month. It follows Alexandra Trese as she goes head to head with a criminal underworld comprised of malevolent supernatural beings.
