'Magellan,' 'Green Bones,' more Oscars shortlisted films hit big screen this September
Here's your chance to watch the Filipino films that were shortlisted for the Oscars 2025!
According to GMA Pictures, "Green Bones," "Food Delivery," "Some Nights I Feel Like Walking," and "Song of the "Fireflies," as well as "Magellan," the Philippines' official entry to the 98th Academy Awards, will hit the big screen this month.
They will be shown in September 19 to 20 at the Robinsons Galleria Movieworld Cinema 4.
Here is the complete screening schedule:
September 19
3:35 p.m. - "Green Bones"
7:00 p.m. - "Food Delivery"
September 20
3:05 p.m. - "Songs of the Fireflies"
5:10 p.m. - "Some Nights I Feel Like Walking"
7:20 p.m. - "Magellan"
Tickets are priced at P250 and are available via the Ticket2Me ticketing website.
"Magellan" is directed acclaimed filmmaker Lav Diaz. It stars Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal as Magellan and Ronnie Lazaro as Raja Humabon.
Other cast members include Dario Bernal, Angela Ramos, Amado Arjay Babon, Mario Huerta Castro, Ivo Arroja, Tomas Alves, Bong Cabrera, Hazel Orencio, Sasa Cabalquinto, and Rafa Siguion-Reyna.
It will compete at the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards.
Meanwhile, "Green Bones" is directed by award-winning film director Zig Dulay and starred Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid.
It was the official entry of GMA Pictures to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024, where it won several awards including Best Actor for Trillo, Best Supporting Actor for Madrid, and Best Picture.
