Ryan Cayabyab and 'A Christmas Carol' headline Proscenium Theater’s year-end lineup
As the year draws to a close, Rockwell’s Proscenium Theater is set to end its inaugural season on a high note with two major productions that celebrate both artistry and tradition.
On November 14 and 15, National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab will take the stage for the first-ever MaestroClass Concert Series. Meanwhile, the timeless holiday favorite "A Christmas Carol" is set to return in a grand staging by 9 Works Theatrical from November to December 2025.
A masterclass in music
One of the most anticipated events on the Proscenium stage, MaestroClass marks Ryan Cayabyab’s first concert at the new venue. A towering figure in Philippine music, Cayabyab has long been part of Rockwell’s cultural story, having graced its events and stages through the years. Now, he leads the launch of a new concert series where each performance will offer a distinct theme and musical experience.
Set against the backdrop of the Proscenium Theater’s world-class acoustics and Steinway pianos, the November concert promises an evening that celebrates Filipino talent at its finest. Audiences can also look forward to guest performers who will join Cayabyab onstage, adding more excitement to this opening edition.
A timeless tale returns for the holidays
"A Christmas Carol" is a spectacular Broadway adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and a book by Mike Ockrent and Ahrens.
Directed by Robbie Guevara, the musical follows the journey of Ebenezer Scrooge as he confronts the ghosts of his past, present, and future on Christmas Eve. It is a story of redemption, family, and generosity that continues to resonate across generations.
The show will be staged by 9 Works Theatrical, and will mark the Proscenium Theater’s third major show of the year, rounding out an opening season defined by variety and artistic ambition.
