Dennis Trillo on Gawad Urian Best Actor award: 'Pinaghirapan at nakuha sa patas'
Dennis Trillo is celebrating a milestone in his acting career after winning the Best Actor award at the 48th Gawad Urian on Saturday.
The Kapuso actor earned the recognition for his performance in "Green Bones."
On Instagram, Dennis proudly shared a photo of himself holding the Urian trophy and wrote, "Mas masarap talaga sa pakiramdam, lalo na't pinaghirapan at nakuha sa patas na paraan!"
His post was flooded with congratulatory messages from fellow Kapuso stars, including Dingdong Dantes, Ruru Madrid, Royce Cabrera, and Rocco Nacino, among others.
Apart from Dennis' win, "Green Bones" also took home the Best Production Design award. Here is the complete list of awardees this year.
The Best Actor award marks Dennis' first Gawad Urian win after several nominations over the years.
He was previously nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 2005 for "Aishite Imasu 1941: Mahal Kita" and again in 2022 for "On the Job: The Missing 8."
For Best Actor, he received nominations for "Blue Moon" (2006), "The Janitor" (2015), and "Felix Manalo" (2016).
The Gawad Urian Awards, established in 1976, is the Filipino Film Critics' measure of the artistry and skills of Filipino filmmakers.
Named after the "urian" stone used to determine the value of gold, the award is a symbol of recognition and, fundamentally, an appreciation of the creator's role toward their medium and their audience.
