Heart Evangelista leads art therapy session for thalassemia patients at 'heArt Gap Gives Back' event
Heart Evangelista led an art therapy session for children with thalassemia at GMA Network's "heArt Gap Gives Back" event in partnership with the Little Ark Foundation.
According to "24 Oras" Thursday, the event was held at the network's headquarters earlier, with Heart leading a live painting session.
The Mayo Clinic states that thalassemia is a type of blood disorder that causes the body to produce less hemoglobin, a protein that allows red blood cells to carry oxygen. This leads to anemia, a condition that causes tiredness, weakness, shortness of breath, and more.
Per the "24 Oras" report, the children had a wonderful time at the event as they got to showcase their creativity through painting. They also took the opportunity to thank Heart, who has been a longtime supporter and advocate of thalassemia patients.
GMA Vice President and Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications Angel Javier Cruz was also present at the "heArt Gap Gives Back" event.
Heart's painting, as well as several of her fashion items, will be up for auction at the Noel Bazaar this weekend at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. All proceeds from the auction will go to the thalassemia patients of Little Ark Foundation.
The Little Ark Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides essential support and care for children with cancer, thalassemia, and other critical illnesses.
