MMFF 2025 parade set in Makati on December 19
The parade for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) will be held in Makati City on December 19, Friday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said on Wednesday.
“On December 19, movie-themed floats will assemble at Macapagal Boulevard at 1 p.m.,” the MMDA said in a statement.
“The parade will travel through Buendia Avenue, Ayala Avenue, Makati Avenue, JP Rizal Street, A. Reyes Avenue, and will end at Circuit Makati. It will run for one-hour and 40 minutes and will cover a distance of 8.4 kilometers,” it added.
Dubbed as “The Parade of the Stars,” the prelude to the MMFF's nationwide screening will showcase the stars and floats of the eight official film entries:
- “Call Me Mother”
- “Rekonek”
- “Manila’s Finest”
- “Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins”
- “I’mPerfect”
- “Love You So Bad”
- “Unmarry”
- “Bar Boys: After School”
MMDA and concurrent overall MMFF chairman Romando Artes said the festival is thrilled to bring the festive spirit of Philippine cinema and the magic of the parade in Makati.
"We are excited to share the celebration with the people in Makati City for the first time. The upcoming 51st Parade of Stars will be another memorable occasion to mark this year's theme: A New Era for Philippine Cinema," Artes said.
The parade will be followed by a program and performances at the Circuit Makati, according to the MMDA, with audiences having the chance to meet and greet with the stars.
To avoid inconvenience, the MMDA advised motorists to avoid the route of the parade and plan their trips accordingly.
The MMDA, meanwhile, thanked the City of Makati, Philippine Airlines, Pru Life UK, Playtime Entertainment, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, and Film Development Council of the Philippines for their assistance to the event.
