Pamamasko tradition: Young Filipinos share what they plan to do with Christmas aguinaldos

The giving of Christmas aguinaldo or gift has been a longstanding tradition in Filipino Christmas celebrations.

According to Oscar Oida’s report on “24 Oras” on Thursday, Ninong Marlon always makes sure to prepare aguinaldos ahead of time.

“Pinag-iipunan ko kapag Pasko, gawa ng ayokong ma-disappoint ang mga inaanak ko eh,” Marlon shared.

With this tradition, how do Filipinos spend their Christmas aguinaldos from their ninangs and ninongs?

One kid shared that he plans to save his money, while another said she will spend hers on food.

Meanwhile, a group of friends used their Christmas aguinaldo to enjoy various rides and attractions at an amusement park in Pasay City.

“Masaya po kasi maraming rides. Hindi po pare-pareho ang experience namin. Tapos po mayroon po kaming bagong kasama. ‘Yung kapatid ko po,” said Jenny Lesnyana.

“Mula po sa Iloilo dumayo po kami dito para lang magsaya kasama ang aming pamilya,” Johnrey shared, adding that his favorite ride is the vikings.

To ensure the safety of its guests this holiday season, the management of Star City assured that all rides undergo daily inspection.

“Palagi po namin ‘yang chine-check. Daily inspection po ‘yan, lahat ng rides and attractions. Bukod pa po doon, dahil alam naming mag-Christmas season na, mas masusi ang aming check na ginagawa,” said Arlene Sicat of Star City.
