How GL influenced the new Glaiza De Castro- Rhian Ramos movie, 'I Fell, It's Fine'

How GL influenced the new Glaiza De Castro- Rhian Ramos movie

Glaiza De Castro and Rhian Ramos appeared on Friday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" and discussed their new movie "I Fell, It's Fine."

According to the Kapuso actresses, the idea for a movie started two years ago, when they were asked to perform as an opening act at a GL fan meet.

GL stands for Girls Love, a media genre where romantic relationships between female characters take front and center.

"Nangyari siya dahil may fan meet yung isang Thai GL, 'Freen and Becky'," Glaiza recalled. "This happened mga two years ago and we were asked to performed there as an opening act."

According to Glaiza it was such a memorable experience because the delighted audience were screaming so loudly, they couldn't hear each other, the music, or the audio.

"Tapos sobrang natuwa talaga yung mga producers namin, sina miss April (Martin) and miss Pauline (Publico). Everybody was shouting 'movie!'," Glaiza continued.

In the interview, they looked back on their 2015 project "The Richman's Daughter" where the two played female characters who fall in love.

"After 'Richman's Daughter' parang wala nang kasunod," Glaiza said, saying they would've wanted a spin-off or a movie.

Fast forward to the present and the two are headlining "I Fell, It's Fine," a movie written and directed by Sigrid Bernardo and based on the producers' original concept.

"Galing sa original concept ng producers, tapos ginawa niyang literal. Literal na may nag-fall," Glaiza said.

When asked if the new movie is also GL, Rhian answered in the affirmative.

"I wanna call it a GL," she said.

"There are elements," Glaiza added.

According to Rhian, the movie is a "story about growth, healing, how someone can come into your life and heal you. Learning, love, understanding."

Joining Glaiza and Rhian are Rafael Rosell, Queenay Mercado, Alchris Galura, Ice Arago, and Elizabeth Oropesa. It will hit cinemas on April 4. — LA, GMA Integrated News
