What advice would Jessica Sanchez give ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ finalist Matty Juniosa?

What advice would Jessica Sanchez give fellow Filipino singer Matty Juniosa, who is currently making waves on the hit talent competition “Britain's Got Talent.” This was among the questions the King of Talk asked “America’s Got Talent Season 20” champion on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” Tuesday.

Jessica began by saying Matty is “representing the Filipinos so well” in the competition.

“Matty is doing great. I think he’s performing so well and I think he’s representing the Filipinos so well in ‘Britain’s Got Talent’," Jessica began.

"I don’t really have that much advice — I would say just stay confident and secure on who you are as an artist and I know you’re gonna kill it,” Jessica said.

She expressed hope for Matty to go all the way in the competition and bring pride once again to Filipinos worldwide.

“Take home the crown for us Filipinos again. I would love that. I would love to have another champion," she said.

In the same interview, Tito Boy asked Jessica about the challenges of breaking into American entertainment, acknowledging that while opportunities have expanded, the industry remains highly competitive.

“I feel like it’s still a little bit difficult because it’s so saturated," she said. "There’s so many people trying to get into it, especially in America."

But Jessica pointed out that representation has improved significantly over the years, especially for Filipino and Filipino-American artists.

“We do have amazing artists who are Filipino-American who are representing our people, so that makes me very proud and that also makes me proud to represent myself."

Filipino-Americans have come along way, Jessica said as she recalled her experience with discrimination early in her career.

“When I was younger, I would get discriminated against. They would tell me, ‘you can’t do this kind of music or be on this platform because you are not the race we are looking for,’” Jessica recalled.

But she noted a positive shift in the industry today, saying casting and production teams are now actively looking for diverse talent.

“Now I actually hear producers and TV people talking about how they’re looking for Filipino faces.”

Matty made waves online after receiving his two Golden Buzzers on “Britain's Got Talent.” His performance of Aerosmith's "Dream On" in the semi-finals booked him a ticket to the finals.

He earlier received a Gold Buzzer in March, which sent him straight to the semi-finals.

The grand finals of "Britain's Got Talent" will be on May 30.

Meanwhile, Jessica was hailed as the grand champion of “America’s Got Talent Season 20” in September 2025 where she sang “Golden Hour” by JVKE.

She is currently in the Philippines for her concert on May 16 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

While in the country, Jessica performed at the 48th ASEAN Summit Gala Dinner alongside fellow Filipino singer Sofronio Vasquez, winner of "The Voice USA" in 2024.
