Gabbi Carballo is the queen of Sinulog in Miss Eco International 2026 Carnival Costume Competition

Gabbi Carballo proudly showcased her Cebuana roots at the Miss Eco International 2026 Carnival Costume competition.

On Instagram, the Filipina beauty queen shared snaps of herself wearing a carnival costume inspired by the Sinulog Festival of her hometown, Cebu City.

“Representing the Philippines’ Sinulog Festival for the Miss Eco International carnival costume competition,” she wrote, tagging the beauty pageant.

According to Gabbi, her hometown Cebu considers "the Sinulog Festival is a celebration of faith, hope, and devotion honoring Santo Niño, the Holy Child Jesus."

The costume designed by Filipina fashion designer Kenneth Malayka Yamas featured a Filipiniana cut gown adorned with cascading roses, bougainvillea, and blooms inspired by Cebu’s mountain towns.

She also wore a head dress adorned with flowers and a piece inspired by the crown of Santo Niño.

According to Gabbi the costume is a “tribute to the hardworking communities whose flowers fill our city with life and color.”

“More than a costume, this is the heart of Cebu — where every dance is a prayer, every flower is a blessing, and every step is a tribute to home,” she added.

Gabbi arrived in Alexandria, Egypt earlier this month for the Miss Eco International 2026.

The 2026 edition of Miss Eco International will run until May 23.

Gabbi is eyeing a back-to-back Miss Eco International win for the Philippines after Alexie Brooks won the 2025 title.

In a previous interview with GMA News Online, she said that she doesn't feel pressured.

"For me, I think pressure comes when you don't understand your responsibility. And for me, I understand my responsibility very well. I know that I have people to inspire. I know that I do have a wonderful queen to follow up," she said.
