PH bags 5 awards in the 2026 World of Hip-Hop Dance
As Filipino tennis player Alex Eala continues to bring pride to the country in the world of tennis, fellow Filipinos are also raising the Philippine flag elsewhere in the world.
Sayawatha Junior, an all-Filipino dance crew made history as the first Filipino junior dance team to win at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship in Arizona, USA.
The win was even made more special as the team showcased their skills in hip-hop dance while dancing to the tune of SB19's Dunca.
Sayawatha Junior is a home-grown dance troupe of Miriam College with all-female members.
Meantime, another team from the same school, Sayawatha Varsity ranked sixth in the Varsity Division making it the first time for the group to make it to the HHI championship.
In the Megacrew division, two more Filipino dance groups won with Femme MNL bagging the first place and The Crew, second.
For the Adult division, HQ won gold while Folk Jumpers placed third.
Overall the Philippines won five awards in the prestigious dance competition. — LA, GMA News
