'Frozen The Broadway Musical' to make PH debut in April 2027

Disney's Frozen The Broadway Musical is coming to Manila for the first time!

The musical will be staged by 9 Works Theatrical at the Proscenium Theater in Makati City in April 2027. The Philippine production will have a strictly limited engagement, 9 Works Theatrical announced Monday.

Based on Disney's 2013 Academy Award-winning animated film, the stage musical features music and lyrics by Filipino-American EGOT winner Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, with a book by Jennifer Lee.

The musical expands on the original film with new songs written specifically for the stage while retaining familiar numbers such as "For the First Time in Forever," "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" and "Let It Go."

The story follows sisters Elsa and Anna, whose relationship is tested after Elsa's magical powers cause Arendelle to be plunged into an eternal winter.

The Manila production will also mark the return of a Disney Theatricals musical to the Philippines after 10 years. The last Disney musical staged in Manila was Disney's Newsies in 2017, which was also produced by 9 Works Theatrical.

Further details on the Philippine production, including its cast, creative team, exact performance dates and ticket information, have yet to be announced. 9 Works Theatrical said updates, including information on auditions and tickets, will be posted through its social media pages.

Disney's Frozen The Broadway Musical is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
