Over 9,000 individuals receive aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation amid Habagat rains
Overall, 9,000 individuals received aid from the GMA Kapuso Foundation amid the heavy rains and flooding caused by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).
According to a report on "24 Oras," the foundation distributed food packs and drinking water in Cabangan and Botolan, Zambales; Guagua, Pampanga; and Rodriguez, Rizal.
Lesther Mose, one of the beneficiaries, moved his wife and their two-week-old child to a higher home. But because of the strong rains, his wife and baby had to go up to the roof.
"It makes me cry because I can't do anything while my wife and child are on the roof. It's hard to calm down during those moments," Lesther said in Filipino on "24 Oras" on Monday.
Lesther also can't help but think about this father and sibling, who got trapped in their home. The flood reached neck-level and could have reached the roof if it continued raining.
But bayanihan came through, as Lesther rescued his family.
