Over 89k individuals affected by Habagat receive aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation

The GMA Kapuso Foundation brought assistance to more than 89,000 individuals who were affected by heavy rains and flooding due to the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat in August.

According to "24 Oras" on Friday, many parts of Luzon were affected by the Habagat, with some families forced to evacuate. Others also lost their livelihoods.

“It’s very difficult, ma’am. Sometimes we have something to eat, and sometimes we don’t," said resident Armida Aguilar.

The GMA Kapuso Foundation, through its Operation Bayanihan project, conducted relief operations and brought food packs in several areas, including Pampanga, with the help of the Philippine Coast Guard.

The foundation also brought aid to affected areas in Zambales and Bataan, including the Aeta communities.

Assistance was also distributed at evacuation centers in Tarlac, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Benguet, Quezon City, Bulacan, Pangasinan, and La Union.

Dog and cat food were likewise distributed for pets affected by Habagat.
