Angelica Lopez wins Best National Costume at Miss Grand International 2026

Angelica Lopez has been honored with the Best National Costume award at the Miss Grand International 2026 coronation night in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Philippine representative was among the four winners, alongside Pakistan's Zara Younus, Thailand's Patthama Jitsawat, and Hong Kong's Yolanda Liu Xuebin.

For the national costume competition, Angelica showcased a look inspired by the mangkukulam, a figure associated with witchcraft in Philippine folklore.

Her costume featured a large sculpture of a woman behind her, depicting a mangkukulam, while Lopez portrayed a voodoo doll complete with needles and button eyes.

On Instagram, the beauty queen explained the inspiration behind her costume.

“Ang mangkukulam. Born from the shadows of Philippine folklore, where mystery meets mysticism and ancestral wisdom lives on,” she said.

Angelica’s win comes as she continues her bid for the Miss Grand International 2026 crown. She has advanced to the Top 25 of the competition.

Angelica arrived in Thailand early in September for the Miss Grand International 2026, where she aims to secure a third consecutive crown for the Philippines, following CJ Opiaza's and Emma Tiglao's back-to-back victories.

In her official introduction video, Angelica shared her childhood struggles and advocated for positive peace. She also shared her singing talent with a cover of "Breathless."
