Hotspot: Traders Hotel offers affordable venues for wedding receptions, big or small
MANILA, Philippines – If you want a romantic wedding reception (and who doesn't?) with the world famous Manila Bay sunset as a backdrop, then you can choose only a few hotels located along historic Roxas Boulevard. One of them is Traders Hotel Manila, where you can have a reception for as few as 25 guests to as many as 600 – and all you and your mate have to do is draw up the guest list and the menu. Traders has become one of the favorite reception venues in Metro Manila, according to Lourdes Tan-Arrieta, communications manager of the hotel. She attributes that to a seasoned events team that handles all the details of the big day. And that includes a wedding planner, if you also plan on getting married right at the hotel. "By considering and taking care of all the possibilities – from the cuisine, decor and limousine all the way up to the wedding cake – Traders Hotel, Manila is the ideal place for each and every happy couple to celebrate their wedding," a hotel statement issued to media organizations. But perhaps the biggest draw is in these savings-conscious days if the budget. For a reception with 50 guests, for example, you can shell out as low as P103,071 – and that includes the service charge and taxes. Traders offers 11 function rooms on its second floor – from the Carlota, which can fit in 25 guests, to the Embassy Ballroom, which can take in 600 guests. Now if you should decide to spend your honeymoon in the same place, the hotel has 303 well-appointed rooms, including suites. And it has two restaurants to make you feel right at home – Latitude, which offers Asian cuisine, with an international lunch buffet; and Kikufuji, which offers Japanese cuisine. For drinks and nightly entertainment, there's the Lobby Lounge. And for coffee and light snacks, there's coffee.com, which offers computers with broadband Internet access. Of course, if you'd rather go out, Traders is situated conveniently in Pasay City, just a few minutes from Manila and Makati.
