Noteworthy notebooks. The limited edition My Pilipinas Moleskine takes pride in all things Pinoy.
It looks like Pinoy pop culture is still high on patriotism. National Book Store (NBS) and Collezione-C2, in partnership with Moleskine, formally unveiled the limited edition My Pilipinas Moleskine at the Power Plant Mall last February 18. "We are honored to be part of this latest collaboration, which has spawned something that is truly Filipino," said NBS regional manager Trina Alindogan, who also serves as the NBS Foundation chair. Arnault Castel, general manager of Working Unit, the official distributor of Moleskine in Asia, added, âThe Moleskine has been a witness to many historical events in the world. Some of its famous users include Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, and Ernest Hemingway, whose Moleskines held a collection of invaluable drawings, sketches, notes and stories. The iconic Philippine map on our legendary notebook is a symbol of the Filipino spirit, passion and limitless creativity." The My Pilipinas Moleskine comes in two sizes: pocket (P995) and desk size, (P1,480). They come in plain and ruled versions. There are only 4,800 pieces of this limited edition notebook, which features supplemental entries on famous Filipino personalities, such as Ninoy Aquino and Lea Salonga. They are exclusively available at NBS.

For his efforts in boosting Pinoy pride, 2009 CNN Hero of the Year Efren Peñaflorida was honored with a special awarding of a My Pilipinas Moleskine notebook in recognition of his achievements and efforts in making education and literacy more accessible to the younger generation of Filipinos. The teacher and civic worker co-founded Dynamic Teen Company, which made use of the kariton classroom concept to bring values education and literacy to less fortunate, at-risk Filipino children. The launching program was hosted by TV personality Daphne Oseña-Paez. Other notable guests included fashion designer Rhett Eala, who is the creative director Collezione-C2. Eala, together with Collezione-C2 managing director Joey Qua, introduced the My Pilipinas clothing line in the same event. - FVI/YA, GMANews.TVPhotos courtesy of National Book Store
