Manila’s dining scene has witnessed some impressive, gussied up variants in recent memory but while the classic formula might remain the same—bread, filling, bread—that hasn’t stopped cunning chefs and deft-handed foodies from raising the bar. From the polished tables of très chic restaurants to the tent cities of weekend markets, we’ve listed our own recommendations of which crafted sandwiches make the cut this year. (Writer’s note: We’ve decided to not include burgers and cheese steaks. Those two, to the benefit of our appetites, deserve their own lists.)
