Judging from the success of his previous book, “Suplado Tips,” Stanley Chi can wear a T-shirt that says “Girls want me and men want to be me” without being mauled by members of both genders.

But the comedian-comic book artist settled for a black statement shirt that said: “Kung kasalanan maging pogi, sorry na po!”
Chi practices what he preaches, dressing up appropriately for the occasion—the launch of his latest and much-anticipated book, “Pogi Points” last Dec. 1 at EDSA Shangri-la Plaza in Mandaluyong City.
The book gives men practical tips on how to get “pogi points” from girls they are wooing and how to decipher the usually confusing messages women give.
'Charity work'
“Ang mga tao, open na sa bagong konsepto. Alam naman natin na ang mga pina-publish na mga libro, masyadong seryoso, medyo teknikal,” musician Ley Miserable shared during the event.
“Ito, nakakatuwang basahin, lalo na kung may sarili kang pangangailangan—kunwari'y mahina ka sa chicks,” he added.
For comedian Ramon Bautista, Chi should be applauded for his “charity work.”
“Andami niyang natutulungang tao. Kawanggawa ang ginagawa niya,” he said.
Other personalities who attended the launch were Barangay LS FM's Papa Dan and YouTube sensation Bogart the Explorer.
Tips for the broken-hearted
And so here are some of the tips dished out that night by Chi and his guests for members of SMP (Samahan ng Malalamig ang Pasko) on dealing with the Christmas blues and finding love this season:
1. Man up.
“Mayroong kumot, comforter; deal with it,” Ley Miserable said. Instead of drowning yourself in loneliness, go out and attend parties.
“Magsama-sama tayo sa isang building,” Papa Dan said. “Pare-pareho tayong single, sabay-sabay tayong susunugin,” he joked.
Ken Mendoza, who cosplayed as Captain Barbel in the event, shared this advice: “Sa mga malalamig ang Pasko, maghintay lang sila. Hindi naman minamadali ang relationship. Darating at darating din iyon.”
2. Christmas is not about having a significant other.
“It's fine that you're lonely this Christmas, hindi naman siya Valentine's Day,” Bogart the Explorer said.
“Spend your time with your family this Christmas,” Papa Dan said. “Mas masaya na kasama ang pamilya natin.”
Ley Miserable agreed, “Share your love to your friends instead. Show them the genuine love that Jesus Christ showed us.”
“Hindi naman emphasis na kapag Kapaskuhan ay mayroon ka dapat love life, na mayroon kang kasamang minamahal sa buhay,” the musician said.
3. Count your blessings; you just saved a lot of money.
For Ramon Bautista, single guys should look at the bright side, money-wise.
“'Di bale nang malamig ang Pasko, nakatipid naman. Pambili na lang ng regalo sa sarili nila 'yung natipid nila,” he said.
Since the year is ending, it is also best to assess your financial situation.
“Huwag kayong mag-alala. Kapag yumaman kayo at pumogi, sila na ang kusang lalapit sa inyo,” Chi said.
How to earn 'Pogi Points' this holiday season And for those looking for someone special, the men said these strategies may work:
1. Attend the Simbang Gabi.
With no intentions to desecrate the well-known Christmas tradition, Chi and Papa Dan said attending Simbang Gabi is a good opportunity to find women you would like to at least go out with.
“Just do your moves after the Mass,” Papa Dan said.
Chi advised guys to invite women personally. “Dalawin ninyo sa bahay at makikain na rin kayo ng Noche Buena,” the author said.
2. Watch what you eat.
“Pa-pogi ka dapat ng pa-pogi. Dapat mala-Aljur ang katawan mo kahit sunod-sunod ang mga kainan hanggang New Year,” Papa Dan said.
3. Always bring a jacket.
Ramon Bautista said to always bring a jacket you could offer to women.
When all else fails, “Itodo niyo ang aircon para kakailanganin nilang yakapin kayo,” he said. — KG, GMA News
