Newly crowned Miss International Bea Rose Santiago takes selfie with PNoy

Now even President Benigno Aquino III is learning how to take a selfie.

But the President got some help from newly crowned Miss International Bea Rose Santiago during her courtesy call at the Palace on Monday afternoon.

Before the Miss International pageant was held in Japan, Aquino personally wished Santiago luck when he visited the country last December 13.

Santiago, 23, is the fifth Filipina to snag the Miss International crown, bagged earlier by Gemma Teresa Cruz (1964), Aurora Pijuan (1970), Melanie Marquez (1979), and Precious Lara Quigaman (2005).

Aside from Santiago, outgoing Chinese ambassador to the Philippines Ma Keqing paid a farewell call on Aquino.

During a press briefing earlier in the day, presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said he is "certain" that despite the "differences" between China and the Philippines, the Chinese envoy will have "a friendly and a warm departure."

"I, personally, have treated her very warmly. She's a very warm ambassador and it has never stopped us from communicating with each other. So relationship with China will always be multifaceted and multi-dimensional," he said. — BM, GMA News
