(Updated 8:17 p.m.) It's SONA Day...but before all eyes turn to the President for his State of the Nation Address, they will first be on the attendees as they arrive at the Batasang Pambansa for their fashion close-up. Which lawmaker will accessorize their barong with a political message? Which solon will wear what color terno to symbolize their stand on a particular issue? Who are the best-dressed?

First up: Marikina Rep. Miro Quimbo and wife Stella, with Prof. Quimbo in a black and white terno accessorized with a gold necklace.

Commission on Audit Commissioner Heidi Mendoza shows up in a blue dress, eschews the red carpet—as does Rep. Neri Colmenares, fresh from the protests outside the Batasan.

MILF chief negotiator Mohagher Iqbal goes for a somber suit and tie, while Rep. Abigail Binay walks in in a grey gown with purple detail, her young daughter Martina in tow.

Laguna Rep. Dan Fernandez accessorizes his barong with a yellow ribbon, while his wife and daughter are radiant in glittery blue gowns.

Sen. Pia Cayetano appears in her first outfit for the day: a red terno. She will be wearing a different outfit for the SONA itself.

Davao Rep. Karlo Alexei Nograles and his wife are up next, with Mrs. Nograles in a flowery cream and orange terno.

Palace deputy spokesperson Abigail Valte makes a statement...in a modified barong with a yellow ribbon.

And now for the star and her date: Sen. Chiz Escudero arrives with Heart Evangelista, with the actress in a striking white terno with a framework of white straps over the bodice and as sleeves—a Joey Samson design.

Laguna Rep. Sol Aragones, in red, is accompanied by designer and fellow LGBT advocate Renee Salud, in white.

A gaggle of Secretaries walks the red carpet, while Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte appears in black and white—and the Makabayan bloc show up in (im)peach.

Imelda Marcos also seems to be in the same color, while another Binay appears: Sen. Nancy Binay, in white and ecru.

Also here: Diwa party-list Rep. Emmeline Aglipay—with chevrons on the butterfly sleeves of her classic terno—and fiance Las Piñas Rep. Mark Villar.

Dionisia "Mommy D" Pacquiao is a vision in cream and spangly green, while Sen. Loren Legarda again wears indigenous fabric to the SONA. This time, she is in a Mandaya outfit.

Another highly anticipated arrival, fashion-wise: Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez and husband Richard Gomez, in ecru and black respectively, now on the red carpet.

Also in: Sens. Grace Poe (in white) and Cynthia Villar (in orange).

Actress Assunta de Rossi skips the Filipiniana for a cream gown, while Cebu Rep. Gwen Garcia is a pink lady.

Sen. Sonny Angara's wife Tootsie is lovely in a Rajo Laurel outfit made with Ifugao fabric.

Cayetano, meanwhile, has followed through with her promised wardrobe change and is now in a black and lace gown.
