WATCH: Davao dogs star in wedding ceremony

Because this is love month, there's bound to be at least one wedding ceremony that has gone to the dogs.

A dog lovers' community in Davao City held a wedding for their pets that had fallen in love, GMA Davao's "Una Ka BAI!" reported Wednesday.

In the "Hearts and Paws Dog Valentine Affair" last Sunday, German Shepherds, Labrador retrievers and Toy Poodles were in formal attire.

"Davao Dog Lovers Community doesn't cater to exclusive breeds. We also welcome mixed breeds and AsPins as well," said Cheryl Valle, administrator of the Davao Dog Lovers Community.

At the ceremony, nine pairs of dogs walked down the aisle along with others dressed as bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Valle said they wanted something new in line for Valentine's Day, after having held doggie fashion shows in the past.

Other than the wedding, there were photo and kissing booths to allow selfies with Dagul, a Great Dane dubbed the Scooby-Doo of Davao for his resemblance to the classic cartoon character.

But the event also has real therapeutic effects, at least according to the owners.
