Members of a fraternity in a Bicol university on Tuesday held an Oblation Run as their way of honoring the 44 Special Action Force police troopers killed in a clash in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last Jan. 25.
The members of the Alpha Phi Omega chapter at the University of Northeastern Philippines in Iriga City ran around the compound, with only their heads covered, GMA Bicol's Avril Daja reported Thursday.
For this year's edition of their Oblation Run, the fraternity dedicated the event to the 44 SAF men, who they cited for their heroism.
But the fraternity also said its run sought as well to join calls for justice for the 44.
This year's run is the fraternity's 15th.
"Opo... kasama rin yun sa ano naman ngayong taon... Yung hustisya para sa Fallen 44," said APO Beta Chapter grand chancellor Arnel Binarao. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
