PHLPost issues Year of the Goat gold-embossed souvenir stamps

Stamp collectors can now welcome the Year of the Goat with the Philippine Postal Corp. issuing souvenir stamps to mark the occasion.
 

PHLPost said the Year of the Goat souvenir sheets have a 3D gold-embossed metallic foiling and have three colors - silver, bronze, and gold.

 

"We also have a large number of Filipino-Chinese philatelists or stamp collectors who have been waiting for the release of this souvenir sheet,” said Postmaster General Josefina dela Cruz.

 

According to PHLPost, 27 percent of the Philippine population have Chinese ancestry and about 1.5 million Filipinos are pure Chinese.

 

The souvenir sheet features images of PHLPost’s Chinese New Year Stamps, including the two designs of the Year of the Goat stamps launched last Nov. 24.

 

About 5,000 souvenir sheets were printed at P200 each and shall be available in major postal offices nationwide, and at the Manila Central Post Office.
