'Pinays' fail to make the cut in Miss Universe pageant

Miss Philippines Anna Theresa Licaros was eliminated on Tuesday in the first round of the 2007 Miss Universe pageant, the most popular beauty contest in the world. Miss Norway Kirby Ann Basken and Miss Germany Angelina Glass, who are both half-Filipino, also failed to make the cut. Those who made it past the first round are candidates from Venezuela, Thailand, Denmark, Nicaragua, Angola, Slovenia, USA, Brazil, India, Mexico, Japan, Ukraine, Tanzania, Korea and the Czech Republic. The pageant, held in Mexico City, is being hosted by Mario Lopez and Vanessa Minillo, an American television personality with Filipino blood. - GMANews.TV
