As the country feels the heat of the dry season, is President Benigno Aquino III feeling the cold of still having no significant other as he enters the last year of his presidency?

President Benigno Aquino III on Monday described the current state of his love life as "below zero."

"It used to be regular. It became light, then zero. Biglang naging below zero," Aquino said during a prayer gathering in Malacañang.

The bachelor President, nevertheless, expressed hope that he would still find his match.

"With God’s help, magiging possible sana," he said.

Aside from the problem of having no love life, Aquino is also facing calls for him to resign over the Mamasapano misencounter that caused the deaths of 44 commandos, 18 Moro Islamic Liberation Front fighters and five civilians.

During the inauguration of a Coca-Cola plant in November, Aquino said his love life has not seen any progress for the past years.

"I will pre-empt the question: My love life is still like Coke Zero," Aquino said in a speech during the event.

He, however, expressed hope that his love life "will be like Coke Lite" when he steps down as president in 2016.

It was the second time the President compared his love life to the soda brand.

The first one was in 2011 when the President said that his love life went from "regular" to "zero."

Aquino has generally been silent about his personal life. His last reported love interest was an attorney from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The President has earlier been linked to former Valenzuela Councilor Shalani Soledad, celebrity stylist Liz Uy and television host Grace Lee. —NB, GMA News
