Holy Week is an important season in the mostly Christian Philippines, an opportunity for people strengthen their faith. Activities such as praying, going to Mass, spending time with family and singing insipirational songs are ways for observant Catholics to reflect on the essence of Holy Week.

On "Unang Hirit" Monday, seminarian Kenneth Parsad spoke about the importance of music to one's faith.

"Music is the language of the soul. It disposes our soul, it disposes our emotions toward God. So importante ang music. Sabi nga nila, if you sing well, you pray it twice," he said, before performing the song "Still" by Christian contemporary music group Hillsong United.

Parsad caught the eye of netizens in January, when he sang the responsorial psalm for Pope Francis' mass at the Manila Cathedral on January.

Many netizens were not only impressed with the seminarian's singing voice, but also with his good looks.

With all the attention he received, Parsad thanked his admirers but said, "I would like to remind you all that it's not about me, okay? It's all about Christ our Lord."

Parsad is currently studying Theology at the University of Santo Tomas, where he expects to spend "at least" three more years in the seminary life. — Trisha Macas/BM, GMA News
