AirAsia Zest on Friday celebrated National Women's Month with a flight featuring an all-female crew during the relaunch of the airline's Manila-Davao route.

Piloting the flight was Captain Gisela Bendong with First Officer Iya Halaguena. All four flight attendants were female. Also on the flight was lawyer and Airasia Zest CEO Joy Caneba.

“At AirAsia, women work shoulder-to-shoulder with their male counterparts, from the office of the CEO, flight operations, engineering, cargo, ramp, ground services to key operational and support departments," said Caneba. "We are very proud of their achievements and contributions in ensuring that we give only the best, quality service to our passengers.”

Halaguena, a third-generation pilot, encourages other women to give flying a go:

"If you want to do something, just go for it. You have to make bold decisions. You can't be half-hearted about your commitments," she said.
