Twelve celebrations from Northern and Central Luzon were represented in a colorful street dancing festival in Dagupan City in Pangasinan on Sunday.

Sunday's "Festivals of the North" also highlighted the top products of the towns represented in the festivals, GMA Dagupan's Jette Arcellana reported Monday on GMA News TV's "Balita Pilipinas Ngayon."

The 12 festivals represented were:

  • Mango Festival of Masinloc, Zambales
  • Pamulinawen Festival of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte
  • Abel-Iloko Festival of Caoayan, Ilocos Sur
  • Sakuting Festival of Dolores, Abra
  • Daing Festival of Sto. Tomas, La Union
  • Ani Festival of Dingra, Ilocos Norte
  • Halamanan Festival of Guiguinto, Bulacan
  • Bangus Festival of Dagupan City
  • Goat Festival of Balungao, Pangasinan
  • Corn Festival of Sto. Tomas, Pangasinan
  • Hundred Islands Festival of Alaminos City
  • Mango-Bamboo Festival of San Carlos City.

Not even the hot weather deterred the performers from their routines. Crews had to train water hoses on the streets to ease the effects of the heat.

Cast members of GMA Network shows joined the parade, including Yasmien Kurdi, Wowie de Guzman and Chlaui Malayao of "Batang Yagit," and the cast of "Healing Hearts."

Meanwhile, the event also featured a showdown of groups that took part in the parade, at the Dagupan City Plaza.
