Floating library MV Logos Hope comes to Cebu

Good news for bibliophiles in Cebu: the MV Logos Hope, considered the world's largest floating library, has docked at Cebu City port.

From May 6 to 28, the MV Logos Hope will offer visitors some 5,000 books along with short movies, GMA Cebu's Vic Serna reported Wednesday.

The vessel also has an international cafe that serves ice cream and other treats.

The Department of Tourism Central Visayas said the MV Logos Hope will be at the Malacañang sa Sugbu near Fort San Pedro and Plaza Independencia.

A brochure posted on the DOT said that after Wednesday's opening at 1 p.m., the library will be closed on Mondays but will be open 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays, and 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Visitors may have to pay P20 entrance fee, though children below 13 years old and senior citizens 60 and up may enjoy free entrance.

However, children aged 14 and below must be accompanied by an adult, and identification may be needed. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
