Beauty queen's family clarifies cause of her death

The family of former beauty queen Rizzini Alexis Gomez clarified the cause of her death on Tuesday at the age of 25.
 
While reports initially said that she succumbed to lung cancer, her family said that the cause of her death is non-Hogdkin lymphoma of the lung.
 
Rizzini was cured of the said disease last July after two years of fighting, but she had a relapse which affected her head and spinal cord.
 
According to his father and former PBA player Roehl Gomez, aside from being hailed as one of the country's most beautiful ladies after winning Mutya ng Pilipinas in 2012, Rizzini is also a good and responsible child.
 
The beauty queen was named Miss Tourism during the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2012 grand coronation night before winning the Miss Tourism International title that year. 
 
Later, she served as muse for Alaska for the PBA's opening ceremonies in 2013. —Bianca Rose Dabu/JST, GMA News
