Kris says Mexico requested her presence to welcome Nieto to PHL
Mexico requested that Kris Aquino be present for President Enrique Peña Nieto's first day in the Philippines when the Mexican leader arrived in the country for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, the Presidential sister said Tuesday.
Wearing her family's signature color, Kris welcomed Nieto in Luneta to kick off his state visit with a ceremonial wreath-laying at the Rizal Monument. They were joined by former President and incumbent Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.

In an Instagram post, the actress-host said she was surprised and flattered to be the preferred presidential sister during the visit.
"Sorry I needed to blur the other parts, but this was the part of the briefing sent to me 2 months ago. Pleasantly surprised & extremely flattered to have been requested," she wrote. The post included a photo of the itinerary of the Mexican president.
When photos of Kris' meeting with Nieto went online, netizens quickly assigned a hashtag for the topic, #GalawangKrissy, noting that the Mexican president is a certified #APEChottie.
