Tearful Miss Colombia talks about announcement blunder: 'Everything happens for a reason'

Colombian beauty queen Ariadna María Gutiérrez Arévalo responded to the Miss Universe 2015 announcement blunder, surrounded by her fellow candidates, in a video posted in the official Facebook account of the pageant.

Miss Colombia was already doing her first walk as Miss Universe 2015 when host Steve Harvey went back on stage to clarify that he meant to announce that Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach won the crown.

In the video, the slightly tearful Ariadna thanked her fans for the support and stated that she is happy about the results, adding, "Everything happens for a reason."

The friends she made in the pageant wrapped her in an embrace and expressed love for her after she delivered her statement. --Aya Tantiangco/JST, GMA News
