Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen joins Pinoys in celebrating Pia Wurtbach's win

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach made every Filipino proud after she won the crown last Sunday, December 20 (Monday, December 21 in the Philippines), ending the 42-year Miss Universe drought for the Philippines.

On Monday, Indian film actress, model, and Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen from India also praised the Filipina beauty queen for her performance in the Miss Universe pageant.

The Philippines has always been close to Sushmita's heart after she won the title in Manila and becoming the first Indian to win the crown.

In a tweet last Monday, the beauty queen said, “CONGRATULATIONS PHILIPPINE! Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is a beautiful and well-spoken Miss Universe! May her reign be a celebrated one! #happy”

Pia is the third Filipina beauty queen to win the Miss Universe crown.
