Eight-hour movie ‘Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis’ hits PHL theaters March 26

Lav Diaz's Berlinale Silver Bear-winning film is coming to Philippine theaters on March 26. Dubbed as "The Hele Challenge", cinephiles are invited to spend eight hours in film houses to #GiveLavAChance

Further details of the Philippine premiere has yet to be announced.

"Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis" or "A Lullaby to the Sorrowful Mystery" follows an interwoven narrative, focusing on the myths surrounding the life and death of Andres Bonifacio.

According to Meryl Streep, president of the 2016 international jury of the film festival, the unusually long movie "changed the molecule system" in her body. — AT/NB, GMA News
