Bb. Pilipinas 2016 bets in best ternos, wild headdresses
The candidates for Bb. Pilipinas 2016 were in their best ternos and wildest headdresses on Wednesday for the pageant's National Costume competition at the Kia Theater.
Angela Lauren Fernando (No. 3), Paula Rich Bartoleme (No. 14), Maria Lina Prongoso (No. 19), Dindi Joy Pajares (No. 27), Jennyline Carla Malpaya (No. 32), and Angelica Alita (No. 38) were announced as the top six.
Fernando wore a delicately embroidered terno by Frederick Peralta, while Bartolome was in a simpler white ensemble by Joel Acebuche. Prongoso was also in white, but with more religious motif as imagined by designer Polly Lagyap.
Malpaya was in a more revealing one-piece Filipiniana by Jonti Martinez. Meanwhile, Alita walked the runway in a modernized lavender Baro't Saya by Bessie Besana. Distancing from the terno, Pajares wore a beaded number by Chery Veric.
Crowd-favorites Nichole Marie Manalo (No. 28) and Kylie Verzosa (No. 31) may not have made the cut, but the ear-splitting screams and screeches of their fans must have been reward enough. —NB, GMA News
