Blake Lively watches a man get eaten by a shark in ‘The Shallows’ trailer

Nancy (Blake Lively) just wants to have a nice day in a beautiful, secluded beach and chooses to stay in shallow waters where it seems safe...but she finds herself trapped on a rock island when sharks go in for the kill. 

Aside from being injured, Nancy is horrified as she watches the predators eat a fellow surfer alive.

Nancy stands 200 meters away from the shore, but the distance seems too wide as a great white shark tests her will. MTV called it "The Revenant with more bikinis" and though it may not earn Lively an Oscar nod, the trailer hints at a very committed performance.

"The Shallows" is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and opens in Philippine cinemas on July 2016. — AT, GMA News
