Highlights from the Miss World Philippines 2016 Grand Coronation Night
Miss World Philippines 2016 held its grand coronation night at Manila Hotel last Sunday.
The event was attended by dignitaries as well as candidates' families, friends and fans, and the place was full of cheers and cries when their favorites strutted on stage.
The masters of ceremonies during the evening were Richard Gutierrez, Gwendoline Ruais, Lauren Reid and Queenierich Rehman.
In front of the event's judges, who included models, business executives, the Panamanian ambassador and the president's legal counsel, the 24 candidates came out in shiny one-piece jumpsuits to kick-start the pageant.
The introductions were followed by the highly anticipated swimwear competition, with the ladies donning brightly colored bikinis from the Roxanne Manuela Swimwear line.
After showing off their sexy figures, the candidates changed into elegant frocks designed by popular local designers for the evening gown competition.
This segment was followed by the announcement of the top 12 candidates: #7 Sarah Margarette F. Joson, #5 Arienne Louise Braga Calingo, #13 Catriona Gray, #2 Shena Saldivar, #24 Yuri Yu Caunca, #21 Marah Muñoz, #12 Arah Alvero Salientes, #23 Ralph Lauren Asuncion, #8 Sandra Lemonon, #18 Ivanna Pacis, #4 Alyana Kagandahan and #10 Kristine Lopez.
The ladies were serenaded by Filipino singers Mark Bautista and Ronnie Liang.
The Q&A portion followed, with each candidate given 30 seconds to answer a different question.
