Pia Wurtzbach, Kylie Verzosa get busy for good causes
Reigning and proudly Filipina beauty queens Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach and Miss International Kylie Verzosa got to work these past few days to support different charity organizations.
Pia celebrated the US holiday of Thanksgiving with God's Love We Deliver, a New York City-based non-sectarian organization that has been the metropolitan area's leading provider of nutritious and individually-tailored meals to people who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves.
She took part in the #CelebrateWithAPlate initiative, lending a hand for the preparation of over 6,000 meals in time for Thanksgiving Day on November 24.
Together with 10,000 volunteers and a dedicated professional staff, Pia made sure that “no client has to spend the holiday alone.”

In an Instagram video, Pia urged her followers to be thankful for the many blessings they receive every single day.
“I think Thanksgiving is the time of the year where we get to stop and appreciate the things we already have. But, shouldn't that be everyday?” she said.
Pia added, “Thanksgiving may not be a celebrated Holiday in the Philippines, but there is so much to be thankful for.”
Meanwhile, the newly-crowned Miss International queen Kylie Verzosa visited children in Quezon City for a special book-giving and storytelling session, and went back to her hometown in Baguio for a homecoming and charity dinner.
Last week, she shared some of her best moments with the children of Balara Elementary School.
According to the beauty queen, “I had fun with the kids of Balara Elementary School. Kids these days are smarter, brighter, faster in absorbing information than before! (Not to mention technologically adept!)”
“Had so much fun reading and you made me sweat trying to read everything in Tagalog! I encourage children to read, for it is essential to the mind!” she added.
After spending time with the youth, Kylie headed to Baguio for homecoming and charity dinner at the Baguio Country Club.
All the proceeds from the event hosted by the Filipina beauty queen will go to the United Nations Children's Fund.
